The Plant
Plant part: Flower
Origin: Iran
Known and used since the Middle Ages for its medicinal virtues, the Damask Rose is a precious rose reserved for noble uses. The Damask Rose is a bush of the Rosaceae family, similar to the wild rose. Its full, pink flowers are found in Syria, Turkey, Bulgaria, Morocco and Russia, on sandy or rocky soils. At Essenciagua, we work with the Layzangan Distillery in Iran.
Queen of flowers, the Rose is the embodiment of perfection and beauty. Its fragrance is complete and harmonious. Since ancient times, the Damask Rose has been known for its bewitching fragrance, embodying beauty and perfection. Roses must be picked by hand using age-old know-how. At the height of the season, between May and June, pickers rise at the crack of dawn: the flower must be harvested between five and nine in the morning, before the heat destroys its delicate essence. It is then distilled within 24 hours, so as not to lose its fragrance. The low yield of essential oil from this flower means it should be used sparingly and delicately. In synergy with other essential oils, it sublimates the skin and perfumes it deliciously. It can also be used in emotional blends. Not to be outdone, Damask Rose Hydrosol is also the perfect ally for the skin and face.
What are the benefits of Damask Rose?
The precious Damask Rose is a valuable ally for the body and mind. A true asset for the beauty and health of your skin, it is particularly effective in treating skin problems such as rosacea and redness, thanks to its action that reduces inflammation and soothes redness. The Damask Rose has anti-aging properties that make it a choice ally to fight against wrinkles and revitalize the skin.
On an emotional level, the Damask Rose is known for its soothing and antidepressant virtues. It promotes relaxation and meditation, thus helping to calm the mind and regain a sense of inner well-being.
Incorporating the Damask Rose into your care routine allows you to have more beautiful skin and a soothed mind.

No cream or serum can totally erase wrinkles, but you can do what you need to do to delay their appearance and soften them a little when they do occur. That’s what I’m trying to do! I’ve been using rose hydrosol every morning for a few years now. With it, I have a natural anti-wrinkle ally, indispensable for its delicacy, gentle fragrance and proven effectiveness against the marks of time. My tip A...
