The Plant
Origin: France
Hemp’s name is closely linked to its history of use by man, whether for its robust fibers or its medicinal properties. This annual plant, with its finely dissected palmate leaves, has been cultivated for centuries for its many applications.
Its flowers, harvested in late summer, are carefully distilled to produce an essential oil rich in sesquiterpenes and cannabinoids, although the CBD content is higher in the oily extract. Although rare, hemp essential oil is sought after for its anti-inflammatory, regenerative and soothing properties. The hydrolat, just as precious, is appreciated for its soothing benefits to the skin and mind. Harvesting and distilling hemp requires a certain expertise, as yields can vary greatly, making each harvest a real treasure.
