The Plant
Plant part: Flowering Summit
Origin: France
Lavandin is a hybrid of Lavender, resulting from a cross between “fine” Lavender and Spike Lavender. Lavandin can be recognized by its spikes, which are fuller and more regular than those of Lavender, and by its longer stems.
Like Lavender, it has a rather violet, bright color and is a perfumer’s delight.
For the record, the word “lavandin” comes from the Latin “lavare”, meaning to wash. Lavandin is often associated with freshly washed linen.
Lavandin is used in phytotherapy and aromatherapy for its soothing properties against insect bites, and for its muscle-relaxing properties thanks to its linalyl acetate and linalool content.
Lavandin essential oil and Lavandin Hydrolat have very interesting properties in aromatherapy, particularly in cases of head lice infestation.
What are the benefits of Super Lavandin?
The Super Lavandin is a plant with multiple benefits for the skin and health in general. Thanks to its antiseptic and antibacterial properties, Super Lavandin is also very effective for deep skin cleansing and fighting against imperfections. In case of insect bites, its antipruritic action quickly relieves itching and reduces swelling. Finally, in case of tendonitis or muscle tension, Super Lavandin is an excellent natural anti-inflammatory that helps to relieve pain and promote muscle recovery.
