Originally from India and Africa, ginger is a perennial plant of about one meter, with very beautiful flowers which recall those of the orchid, and which is reproduced by the rhizome, aromatic. Throughout the Middle Ages the ginger was imported into Europe, where it was very appreciated, but could never be cultivated there. It was recommended for stomach weaknesses.
