The name of the Canadian fleabane recalls its North American origins, where it grows spontaneously in prairies and fallow lands. This tall and slender annual plant is distinguished by its narrow leaves and small white flowers in capitula, resembling miniature daisies. A member of the Asteraceae family, the fleabane is known for its medicinal properties and its ability to adapt to disturbed environments.
Distilled at the end of summer, when the flowers are fully open, the Canadian fleabane produces a rare and precious essential oil, rich in limonene, terpinene, and borneol. It is renowned for its anti-inflammatory, diuretic, and astringent properties, and is often used in phytotherapy to relieve joint pain and urinary infections.
