Essenciagua’s handcrafted, certified organic Matricaria Chamomile Hydrosol (also known as German Chamomile) is a versatile natural remedy. Derived from Matricaria Recutita, a plant native to France, this hydrosol is recognized for its powerful anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory properties.
Orally, the anti-inflammatory molecules present in matricaria floral water soothe digestive disorders, abdominal pain, peptic ulcers and gastritis. Its anti-allergic properties are also of interest in cases of hay fever or allergic asthma.

Origin: France
Native to Eastern Europe and the Middle East, Matricaria, also known as German Chamomile, is now widespread throughout most of Europe, colonizing neglected land and untreated fields. Whether wild or cultivated, Chamomile is harvested in summer, when it is in full bloom. Its name comes from the Greek chamos (because it grows close to the ground) and melos (because its flowers have an apple-like fragrance). The genus name Matricaria comes from the Latin matrix, -icis “1. reproductive, female, 2. matrix” and the suffix -arius, -aria, alluding to the plant’s virtues. Finally, it’s the plant of blond hair!
