Essenciagua’s Lentisque Pistachier Hydrolat, extracted from the Mediterranean shrub Pistacia lentiscus, is a rich, soothing natural product. Native to France, Pistacia lentisca is an evergreen shrub cultivated in arid regions around the Mediterranean. It’s also known as the mastic tree because of the aromatic gum extracted from its trunk, used in confectionery and liqueur-making.
The purifying and soothing properties of this hydrosol make it an excellent choice as a facial toner, particularly effective in reducing acne and pimples. The Pistachio Lentisque is a shrub 1 to 4 m tall, with lanceolate evergreen leaves. It is found in arid areas around the Mediterranean. Also known as the “mastic tree”, it takes its name from the highly fragrant gum extracted from its trunk.
This gum has been used since Antiquity. It is still used in confectionery and in the manufacture of liqueurs. Aromatic hydrosols and essential oils are extracted from the twigs.
Rich in pinene, the essential oil and hydrolat are recommended for relief of leg discomfort.
