Lemon Eucalyptus is a large tree in the Myrtaceae family, growing up to 50 meters tall, with leaves that give off a lemony scent. Its bark is fibrous, gray or grayish-brown and peels off in long ribbons. The small, evergreen leaves are green. Originally from Australia, this tree has been imported to Europe and now thrives in our latitudes, albeit on a smaller scale.
The trunk of Lemon Eucalyptus is very straight. Eucalyptus wood is used to make furniture and the famous didgeridoo. Lemon Eucalyptus leaves are an excellent insect repellent, particularly for mosquitoes.
Thanks to its high citronellal content, Lemon Eucalyptus is used in phytotherapy and aromatherapy for its anti-inflammatory properties. Lemon Eucalyptus is traditionally used in massage oils for joint comfort or sports pain. Lemon Eucalyptus Essential Oil is also appreciated as a summertime insect repellent.
