Native to the plateaus of New South Wales in Australia and the coastal regions of Victoria, it has been introduced to Europe and flourishes in southern Europe. Its bark is fibrous, gray or blue-gray, peeling off in long ribbons, and its elongated (lanceolate) leaves are bright green.
