Wintergreen is a small, creeping sub-shrub of the Ericaceae family, less than 15 cm tall, with glossy, dark-green foliage and white flowers that appear singly or in small clusters in summer. These are followed by aromatic, scarlet fruits that often persist into spring. Like most Ericaceae, wintergreen is native to cold regions and contains a precious, warm-smelling essential oil. Rich in methyl salicylate, Wintergreen Oil has a warming effect on the body and emotions. It also has the characteristic scent of the balms used by athletes to relieve muscle and joint pain.

I have very athletic teenagers who play several sports.
