La Plante Niaouli
Partie de la plante: Sheet
Origine: Madagascar
Niaouli is a small tree (10-15m tall) of the Myrtaceae family, with a tortuous silhouette and evergreen leaves, found mainly in New Caledonia, Madagascar and Australia. Its bark, made up of superimposed layers that crumble easily, is the source of its name “skin tree”. It is said that, in New Caledonia, it was customary to wrap a newborn child in these thin layers of bark for strength and protection.
A must-have in the natural first-aid kit, thanks in particular to its cineole content, Niaouli is widely used in phytotherapy and aromatherapy. Traditionally, its essential oil is prized for its beneficial effects on respiratory and circulatory comfort. It is often used as an inhalant to clear congested airways.
Beyond its medicinal applications, Niaouli Essential Oil is also appreciated as a diffuser to purify ambient air. It is also used in the manufacture of body care products thanks to its decongestant and soothing properties.
