Ravintsara, also known as Camphor, was imported to Madagascar in the 19th century. Originally from Asia, it developed a very different biochemistry from Asian camphor, and consequently very specific properties.
In aromatherapy, both the leaves and the wood of the Asian camphor tree are used. In Malagasy, “ravina” and “tsara” mean “good leaf”. At Essenciagua, we have chosen to distill this part of the plant by hand, to extract its essence.
