Thym linalool (Thymus Vulgaris) is a variety of thyme appreciated since Antiquity, traditionally cultivated on the calcareous soils of the Mediterranean basin. Its flowering tops are renowned for their aromatic richness.
At Essenciagua, we carefully distill the fresh, 100% organic flowering tops of this plant, sourced from the Occitanie region in France.
This essential oil offers a unique aromatic profile. Its delicate aroma can enhance your culinary preparations, bringing an herbaceous and fresh touch. Olfactorily, Thym linalool stands out as the mildest of thymes, offering a subtle and enveloping fragrance. Its bouquet is fresh and herbaceous, devoid of the intense warmth found in other thyme chemotypes. It is an invitation to a moment of serenity, bringing a sensation of purity and lightness to your environment.

La Plante Thyme linalol
Partie de la plante: Flowering Summit
Origine: France
An aromatic evergreen, Thyme is a genus of plant belonging to the Lamiaceae family. It comes in several varieties. Among the best-known are Common Thyme and Wild Thyme.
Thyme is a small plant that thrives in well-drained, sunny soil. As such, it is particularly fond of the Mediterranean.
Although the origin of its name is uncertain, we do know that in ancient times it was used by the Greeks and Romans as incense or perfume. From the Middle Ages onwards, it was widely used as an aromatic and culinary aid.
Much appreciated for its fragrance, it is also known for its aromatherapy properties. Its virtues are mainly linked to the presence of phenols (thymol and carvacrol) and monoterpenols (geraniol, linalool, terpineol, thujanol), whose varying concentrations according to biotope and harvesting period determine six different chemotypes.
Thyme à linalol is used in aromatherapy, as its name suggests, for its linalool content. This monoterpenol is valued for its analgesic, antibacterial and antiseptic effects.
