Cooking with essential oils

Are you looking for authentic, pure flavors?

What if the solution lay in your bottles of essential oils?

Far from being a far-fetched idea, cooking with essential oils is an increasingly popular practice, validated by science. It's the most fabulous natural alternative to synthetic flavors.

At Essenciagua, we guarantee a 100% pure and natural product, from the field to your plate, thanks to our expertise as artisan distillers. Discover with us how these concentrates of nature can safely sublimate your dishes and transform your recipes.

A treasure trove of pure flavors, validated by science

The idea of adding an essential oil to a dish may seem audacious, but it's actually firmly rooted in modern scientific research. Far from being anecdotal, this use is being studied for its multiple virtues. Science confirms what plant lovers intuitively know: essential oils are fabulous natural alternatives to synthetic aromas. Their antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, capable of contributing to the natural preservation of food, have been widely validated.

To use an Essenciagua essential oil is therefore to choose a concentrate of pure nature, whose safety and benefits have been documented.

Essenciagua quality: a matter of course and a requirement

Before we even talk about recipes, let's talk about respect. For us, a culinary-quality essential oil is above all a living essential oil, derived from a plant that has grown healthily. That's why all our plants are certified organic and why we favor local producers who share our convictions.

Our artisanal distillation know-how makes all the difference. Slow, low-temperature distillation preserves all the aromatic molecules. It's this requirement that guarantees you authentic flavor and total safety. An Essenciagua essential oil is the promise of a 100% pure and natural product, from the field to your plate.

Our palette of inspirations for getting started

It's easiest to start with familiar flavors. In fact, many essential oils derived from herbs and spices are recognized as safe for food use by regulatory authorities worldwide.

  • The sunshine of a citrus fruit: Lemon, Mandarin, Sweet Orange... Their essential oils are bursts of joy. A drop in a pancake batter, a drizzle of olive oil for a vinaigrette, or on a white fish at the end of cooking, and the dish lights up.
  • The poetry of an aromatic herb: Rediscover Basil grand vert, Rosemary verbenone or Thyme linalol. A single drop is enough to flavor a large ratatouille, flavor fresh goat's cheese or sublimate a simple mashed potato.
  • The warmth of a spice: For Cinnamon, Ginger or Cardamom, delicacy is the order of the day. Dip the tip of a toothpick into the bottle, it's just the right amount to infuse into applesauce, smooth hot chocolate or fragrant rice pudding.

Our 3 tips

To ensure that your experience is always a pleasure, we're sharing three simple, common-sense rules validated by science.

1. The light hand rule, respect for power

An essential oil is an incredibly powerful concentrate. For a family dish (4 to 6 people), just one drop is enough! This dosage is the key not only to good taste, but also to safety, in line with toxicological recommendations

2. The secret of the binder: The art of mixing

Essential oils and water don't mix! For their aromas to diffuse harmoniously without stinging the palate, they need to be bound together. The secret is always to first blend them in a fatty substance (oil, butter, cream, egg yolk) or sweetened substance (honey, maple syrup).

3. The final gesture: Protecting fragility

The aromas of essential oils are carried by volatile molecules that fear intense heat. To preserve their finesse, add them preferably at the end of cooking or in your cold preparations. It's the chef's final touch that changes everything!

A matter of common sense and prudence

Our philosophy is simple: nature does things well. When it comes to cooking, one golden rule applies: if you can't eat a plant, you can't eat its essential oil either! Rely on the flavors you like and know. Science also warns against ingesting oils rich in certain molecules such as camphor or pulegone.

Out of love and caution, we advise against the culinary use of essential oils during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and to young children without the advice of a health professional.

The final word

Cooking with essential oils is a dialogue with nature. It's an invitation to slow down, smell and taste differently. Each Essenciagua bottle is a promise of quality and passion. So go ahead, trust your intuition and let nature enhance your cooking. The journey has just begun.

A quick reminder before feasting

To make the magic happen with complete peace of mind, remember our 3 golden keys:

  1. The Light Hand: just 1 drop is enough for a recipe for 4 people.
  2. The Binder Secret: Always dilute the drop in a little oil, syrup, compote or vegetable cream.
  3. The Final Gesture: Add the essential oil at the last moment to preserve its delicate fragrance.
