The Plant Peppermint

Peppermint
Latin Name: Mentha Piperita

Plant part: Flowering Summit

Origin: France

Peppermint is a perennial of the Lamiaceae family, about 80 cm high, widespread in Europe and Asia, especially at low altitudes. Mint has always interested scientists thanks to its particular virtues. The Chinese praised the calming and antispasmodic properties of mints. Hippocrates considered them an aphrodisiac and Pliny appreciated their analgesic action.
Today, along with verbena and lime blossom, mint is one of the most popular herbal teas at the end of meals. All mints have more or less the same properties, and we use them in the form of Essential Oil or aromatic peppermint hydrolate to combat headaches, motion sickness and to aid digestion.
