La Plante Palmarosa
Partie de la plante: Aerial Part
Origine: India
Also known as Indian geranium, Palmarosa is a plant with a sweet, strong fragrance reminiscent of rose. Historically, it is said that it was sometimes subtly added to Rose Essential Oil to dilute it and increase the profits of unscrupulous merchants.
Palmarosa is native to India and, like citronella, belongs to the Cymbopogon genus (Poaceae family). Palmarosa is a relatively large plant, reaching heights of 2 to 3 meters. It is widely cultivated in many places to extract its essential oil. Rich in geraniol, it is highly reputed in aromatherapy for its antibacterial and soothing properties for skin and mind.
