Spearmint is a herbaceous perennial of the Lamiaceae family, very common in our gardens, reaching 60 cm to 1 m in height. Native to temperate western Asia and southeastern Europe, it has since become acclimatized in many countries around the world.
Grown in our gardens, it has a sweet, penetrating fragrance, milder than peppermint, reminiscent of chlorophyll chewing gum. It is soothing, invigorating and refreshing.
Thanks to its terpene content, particularly carvone and limonene, spearmint is mainly used in aromatherapy for its digestive benefits.
