Pectin fir, also known as common fir, white fir or simply fir, is a conifer in the Pinaceae family. It is one of Europe’s tallest native trees. It can reach 60 meters or more. The only species of spontaneous fir in Western Europe, it thrives at altitudes ranging from 400 to 1,800 meters.
Its high monoterpene content, also found in lemons, adds a citrus note to its resinous scent.
