The story of Essenciagua dates back to 2002, when Laurent Gautun began to think about an innovative distillation concept combining the use of efficient stills with plants from France. Inspired by his travels in Europe and Ecuador, Laurent left his job at TOTAL to embark on the design of specific stills for aromatherapy and the development of partnerships with local producers. In 2005, Laurent set up his workshop in Occitanie and made his first distillation. The Essenciagua brand began to take shape. One goal: the production of superior quality French artisanal essential oils.
BIRTH OF NOVA AROMA
In 2010, Magali Louis joined the project. After earning a doctorate in biomedical sciences and working for several years in medical research at UCLouvain in Brussels, she decided to adopt a more natural approach to health. Together, Magali and Laurent created Nova Aroma gentle, a wide range of certified organic essential oils and hydrosols of rare quality. The philosophy is simple: "one person, one moment, one plant".
BRAND CONSTRUCTION
In 2013, Essenciagua registered the trademarks "Grand crus of essential oils" and "French artisanal essential oils" which became its new signatures.
2017 was marked by the inauguration of the new Essenciagua workshop in Lozère, at the heart of the region's preserved natural heritage. The building was constructed in an eco-conscious and innovative manner.
QUALITY & INNOVATION
In 2019, the workshop developed a partnership with Mayotte and hosted its first on-site training sessions. Essenciagua also created an Economic Transition Contract for Lozère named "Plants and Health", unprecedented in France for its health aspect.
2021 marks a turning point for Essenciagua. The workshop becomes the first "Plants and Health" company to win the prestigious "Great Exhibition of Made in France" at the Elysée. This title is the ultimate recognition of its artisanal know-how and ecological commitment.
The story of Essenciagua is that of a French craftsman who has managed to combine innovation, quality and ethics, and offer natural products that are respectful of the environment and beneficial for health.
