The plant

Lemon balm
Latin: Melissa Officinalis

Plant part: Flowery

Origin: France

The lemon balm, whose name evokes honey, is one of our best honey plants. It grows in tufts in the gardens and near these in southern Europe, up to 1000m above sea level. The Arabs of the 10th century used it as a remedy for melancholy. The lemon balm falls into the composition of the Chartreuse and the lemon balm of the Carmes, both claiming the title of real "health elixir". Lemon balm is an excellent plant to accompany digestion. It allows you to fight the spleen, melancholy. We distinguish it at the end of the summer season when it is the richest in essential oil, accumulated throughout the summer. Lemon balm hydrosol is particularly suitable for children and infants in accompaniment to digestion.
