The tree is a sort of tree in the Pinaceae family. It is a fir tree from North America, introduced in Europe in 1831. It is a large ornamental fir tree with conical, rustic, and very rapid growth. The needles give off a lemongrass smell when they are crumple. This tree can reach 50 to 55 m in France, and up to 80 m on its original territory. Its longevity can reach 200 to 300 years.
