The history of Essenciagua dates back to 2002, when Laurent Gautun began thinking about an innovative distillation concept combining the use of high-performance stills with plants sourced from France. Inspired by his travels in Europe and Ecuador, Laurent left his job at TOTAL to start designing specific stills for aromatherapy and developing partnerships with local producers. In 2005, Laurent set up his workshop in Occitanie and carried out his first distillation. The Essenciagua brand began to take shape. One goal: the production of top-quality artisanal French essential oils.
NAISSANCE DE LA NOVA AROMA
In 2010, Magali Louis joined the project. After obtaining a PhD in biomedical sciences and working for several years in medical research at UCLouvain in Brussels, she decided to adopt a more natural approach to health. Together, Magali and Laurent created Nova Aroma douce, a wide range of certified organic essential oils and hydrolats of rare quality. The philosophy is simple: "one person, one moment, one plant".
BRAND BUILDING
In 2013, Essenciagua registered the "Grands crus d'huiles essentielles" and "Huiles essentielles artisanales françaises" brands, which became its new signatures.
2017 was marked by the inauguration of Essenciagua's new workshop in Lozère in the heart of the region's preserved natural heritage. The building is built in an eco-conscious and innovative manner.
QUALITY & INNOVATION
In 2019, the workshop develops a partnership with Mayotte and hosts its first training courses there. Essenciagua also creates an Economic Transition Contract for Lozère called "Plants and Health", unprecedented in France for its health component.
2021 marks a turning point for Essenciagua. The workshop becomes the first "Plantes et Santé" company to win the prestigious "Grande Exposition de Fabriquée en France" at the Elysée Palace. This title is the ultimate recognition of its craftsmanship and ecological commitment.
The Essenciagua story is that of a French artisan who has succeeded in combining innovation, quality and ethics to offer natural products that respect the environment and benefit health.
