Among the most precious essential oils in natural cosmetics, true lavender occupies a special place. Renowned for its exceptional skin tolerance and versatility, it makes an ideal base for facial treatments. Although it is not used systematically, its use is essential whenever we seek to combine soothing, regenerating and balancing properties in the same formula.
True lavender: a balanced foundation
True lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) essential oil is one of the most complete in aromatherapy. It offers a remarkable balance between effectiveness and gentleness, making it a precious ally in skin care.
- Soothing thanks to its high content of linalyl acetate (20-45%), an ester known to calm nervous and inflammatory reactions.
- Cutaneous healing and regenerating, notably through the presence of linalool, which stimulates cell repair.
- A gentle antibacterial, it can help purify the skin without aggressing it.
This base gives both preparations a calming and repairing effect, while serving as a gateway to more targeted actions depending on the other ingredients.

Cistus ladaniferus (Cistus ladaniferus): This oil is renowned for its astringent, restorative and hemostatic properties. Its richness in monoterpenes (α-pinene, camphene) makes it invaluable in anti-aging and fragile skin care. Damask rose (Rosa damascena): A rare and precious oil, containing aromatic compounds such as geraniol and citronnellol, with regenerating, toning and antioxidant effects. It also provides a subtle olfactory dimension, often associated with emotional comfort. Borage: Its concentration in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) gives it a restructuring and revitalizing action. It supports skin elasticity and slows the visible signs of aging. Jojoba: This biomimetic liquid wax regulates sebum and maintains hydration. It promotes beautiful skin texture without clogging pores. Apricot kernel: Illuminating and toning, it restores radiance to dull or tired skin. Macadamia: Here again, it facilitates penetration of the blend and strengthens the cohesion of the whole. In practice This treatment is particularly indicated:
for mature, dry or devitalized skin, as a night treatment or regenerating serum, as a cure during seasonal changes or as support after prolonged exposure to the sun.Two personalities, one clear intention
The two treatments share a common base - true lavender - but their composition reveals two quite distinct intentions:
- The first focuses on softness, protection and soothing, targeting fragile skin or skin prone to discomfort.
- The second addresses skin in search of regeneration, firmness and radiance, mobilizing richer, targeted ingredients.
