Discover our Evergreen Cypress Hydrosol 100% Organic and Handmade

The Evergreen Cypress Hydrosol from Essenciagua, produced in Lozère, is a naturally potent distillate derived from Cupressus Sempervirens. Originally from northern Iran, Cyprus, and Crete, the Cypress is now widely spread throughout the Mediterranean basin and is grown for ornamental purposes throughout Southern Europe.

The anti-infectious properties of the Evergreen Cypress Hydrosol make it an ally against winter ailments, both as a treatment and in diffusion.

In topical application, the Evergreen Cypress Hydrosol is beneficial for reducing redness and inflammation.

Furthermore, this hydrosol can be used to reduce physical fatigue when added to a glass of water. Its toning and mild diuretic properties make it useful for improving the appearance of the skin in cases of cellulite.

Usage Methods

Common questions

What are the benefits of Cypress?

Known for its multiple virtues, the Evergreen Cypress is commonly used in aromatherapy for its vasoconstrictor, toning, and astringent benefits. Used in the form of Cypress Essential Oil or Hydrosol, the Evergreen Cypress is also a valuable ally to stimulate the immune system, combat physical fatigue, enuresis problems, and also to alleviate the symptoms of menopause.

What are the benefits of Hydrosol?

A hydrosol is the product of steam distillation of a plant or flower. When the plant is distilled to extract the essential oil, the hydrosol is the aqueous product remaining after the oil separation. It contains the water-soluble compounds of the plant as well as a minute part of the essential oil. Therefore, the use of a hydrosol can be a gentler solution than resorting to essential oils, particularly for the face.

The Plant Evergreen Cypress

Evergreen Cypress
Latin Name: Cupressus Sempervirens

Plant part: Branch with Fruits

Origin: France

The Cypress is a conifer belonging to the Cupressaceae family, which can reach a height of 30 meters or more. Originally from Northern Iran, Cyprus, and Crete, it is now widespread throughout the Mediterranean basin. It is cultivated for ornamental purposes throughout southern Europe and also thrives in our latitudes, including in the “wild”.
Historically, the Cypress was already mentioned in Assyrian writings and held an important place in the funeral rites of the ancients. In Ancient Greece, lung patients were sent to Cypress forests.
Its wood, strongly scented, is rot-resistant. Its leafy branches and cones are rich in pinene. This terpene has particularly interesting antiseptic and antibacterial properties in aromatherapy.
